Kincardine Court, Manchester

Situated in the heart of Manchester close to Manchester Metropolitan University this student accommodation block for Unite Students formed the final phase for an existing 4-7 storey quadrangle building.  Built to a tight programme to suit student enrolment the works were completed on schedule.

Commencing in September 2021 with the enabling works in relocating the existing water tank pump building facility, QED undertook the pile cap and ground beams together with the ground floor slab construction, we installed the surface and foul water drainage including temporary diversions.  In a later visit to the project, QED completed the courtyard paving and final drain connection works including attenuation and interceptor installs.

Much of the construction entailed the use of a long reach excavator for cranage of materials due to the restricted access.
